How Juvéderm Works
JUVÉDERM® is easily injected under the skin and, using your own framework, it strengthens and “boosts” your own facial contours to create volume. Juvéderm is a non-surgical cosmetic filler that utilizes hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring compound in the skin, to achieve its effects. It primarily aims to restore lost volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial contours by replenishing the skin’s natural hyaluronic acid levels. Juvéderm Treatment Process
Step 1. Our nurse injectors will carefully evaluate your facial appearance and skin tone and examine the areas of your face that can benefit with injectable fillers.
Step 2. Strategic points on your face may be marked as guides to the appropriate injection sites for the filler.
Step 3. The injection sites will be cleansed with an antibacterial agent. Ice or a topical numbing agent may be offered to make more sensitive patients comfortable. In some cases, the filler itself will contain an anesthetic agent. In other cases, local anesthetic may be administered to the treatment site.
Step 4. The injection takes only a few moments per site and a few minutes for a course of treatment.
Step 5. Following Juvéderm injection, any markings will be cleansed and ice may be offered to alleviate discomfort. Makeup may be carefully re-applied so long as care is taken not to apply pressure to the treatment area. Just like any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site.
Filling wrinkles or recessed scars typically involved multiple injectable treatments. In some cases where deeper injection of fillers is required, a local anesthetic may be used prior to treatment. Common sites for deeper tissue fillers include smile lines, laugh lines, and cheeks.

What To Expect During a Juvederm Treatment
Before the treatment begins, the targeted area will be thoroughly cleaned with an antibacterial cleanser to ensure it’s sanitized and germ-free.
