How Does Versa Work?
Aging, environmental factors, and lifestyle choices can affect how your skin appears. As you age, the skin starts to lose elasticity. Collagen is produced less, and over time, the skin forms moderate and harsh wrinkles. Additionally, frowning, smoking, and even smiling can cause fine lines to appear on your face.
Revanesse Versa is an injectable filler that addresses fine, moderate, and severe wrinkles by restoring volume under the skin. It is composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that naturally occurs in the body. Hyaluronic acid bonds with water molecules in the skin tissues to create volume.
Which Wrinkles & Areas Can Versa Address?
Versa can be injected into the skin of the face to treat numerous types of wrinkles:
- The Nasolabial Folds: Harsh wrinkles that extend from the area around the nose to the corners of the mouth

Your Consultation
The first step in your Versa filler treatment is setting up a filler consultation at either our Des Moines or Ankeny locations. During this, you will be asked about the changes you want to see. The treatment will be discussed in further detail.
Your complete medical history will be discussed. Any allergic reactions should be discussed, and if you are taking any medications or supplements, this should be disclosed. You will be asked about any prior cosmetic procedures you have undergone.
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, then this procedure should be put off until after you are no longer breastfeeding. Versa dermal fillers are also not recommended for people with skin conditions such as psoriasis and rosacea.
The Procedure
First, the treatment areas will be marked. Versa is then injected into the marked areas. The procedure can be completed within fifteen minutes to half an hour, depending on the number of areas being targeted.
A minor amount of lidocaine is already present within the filler. Lidocaine has pain relief properties and is usually more than enough to deal with any pain during the procedure. If necessary, topical numbing ointment or ice can also be applied.
Aftercare
There is no downtime required after a Versa dermal filler injection procedure in our Des Moines and Ankeny locations. It’s an outpatient procedure, and you’ll be able to return to your daily activities the same day.
You may experience minor discomfort and swell for a few hours after the injection. After that, the discomfort and swelling should fade. You should consider avoiding dental treatments for up to three weeks following the procedure.
The Results of Versa
The effects of Versa dermal fillers in Des Moines and Ankeny can last up to a year. Certain areas, such as around the lips, may require a second treatment within six to nine months. After Versa injections, your skin volume will be restored and the visibility of wrinkles will be reduced, creating a more youthful appearance.
