Soften & Smooth Fine Lines

With Dysport, Des Moines patients can resolve frowns lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, and other fine facial wrinkles. Dysport is a prescription injection used to smooth away these lines, restoring a naturally youthful look.

This injectable neuromodulator treatment works by reducing precise muscle activity. It does not change the look of the face or its movement; the other muscles will work normally, and you will still be able to express your feelings in a natural way.

What Is the Difference Between Botox and Dysport?

Both Dysport and Botox are botulinum toxin type A injections used to treat and prevent wrinkles, and they are similar in a variety of ways. However, unlike Botox, Dysport’s formula contains cow’s milk protein and human albumin as supporting agents.

Dysport generally provides faster results. While Dysport’s results usually appear in two to three days, Botox’s results can take seven to ten days to appear. The exact amount of time results take to appear is different for each patient.

Additionally, trace protein potency is different in the two treatments. Dysport has less protein in it, and because of this, the body produces fewer antibodies in response to an injection. As a result, the body breaks it down more slowly.

Dysport is also more diluted. Due to this, it spreads more easily over larger areas, causing fewer injections to be required. It is a third as strong as Botox, and because of this, its results look even more natural.

Am I a Good Candidate for Dysport?

It is safe for anyone with no history of severe allergic reactions to undergo Dysport treatment. Dysport has the potential to cause an allergic reaction for certain patients, and so your doctor will ensure that you are not allergic to any of its components.

Before undergoing the procedure, let your doctor know about any medicines that you are taking. NSAIDs like Tylenol and Ibuprofen can lead to more severe side effects than normal because of their blood-thinning properties. Healing time would also be adversely affected.

Your Dysport Treatment Session

At the start of the treatment session, the areas targeted for treatment will be marked as a guide. A mild anesthetic will be used on the area in order to numb the region to any pain or discomfort. The Dysport injections will then be delivered to the marked regions. The procedure takes 20 minutes or less to complete.

After Your Treatment Session

You will be allowed to return to your daily schedule as soon as the procedure is over, and no downtime or recovery time is required. Because this injectable treatment is so convenient, patients often get a Dysport treatment during their lunch break and then go right back to work.

Dysport does not have any major side effects. Any minor swelling, bruising, or redness is temporary and disappears in a couple of days. Every individual will heal differently. In a few days, results start to become visible.

The results of Dysport typically last for 3 to 4 months. To maintain results, follow-up appointments will be necessary.

How Much Does Dysport Cost?

The price of a Dysport treatment varies from med spa to med spa. The exact cost of your Dysport treatment will depend on the number of injections required to achieve your beauty goals.
