Microneedling is a process where a specialized handheld device is equipped with a series of small quickly moving needles to create thousands of “micro channels” or holes on the upper layers of the skin. At Coachlight we use the SkinPen handheld device for the Microneedling treatment.

This procedure stimulates collagen formation which then results in smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and shrinking of the pores. Microneedling also treats acne scars. Microneedling provides your skin with a wonderful youthful glow with minimal downtime. At Coachlight we have several treatments to keep you forever young and treat damaged skin. Microneedling is one of several anti-aging options.

It is best to do 3 to 6 treatments 30 days apart from each other. The number of treatments depends on expected results, age of the patient and how damaged the skin may be.

Although we do apply a topical numbing cream on the area being treated, some patients may experience mild discomfort during the procedure. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes but the appointment is scheduled for 1 hour to allow for the numbing cream to take effect. Most patients experience some mild swelling for a day and redness for 2 to 4 days after the procedure. The redness can usually be covered by make-up and most patients can return to work within 1 to 3 days after the procedure.
